We have a great room (kitchen, dining room, living room) which has slate flooring. After loading a search on cleaning the floor, I decided to buy a steam mop shark from Costco. I chose this mainly for the cheaper price and great service back to Costco. (I kept the box.) After using two times
I was pretty happy, but then I saw the second one in advertising. Reading the online reviews I was torn. I decided to take a chance and ordered the broom with Kohl's with a 30% discount coupon. I got 2 in 1 for the same price as the regular steam mop and I'm very happy! I have children, no pets and live in the country.
We have a lot of sand and the track in vac sucks up! My big area rug makes a lot of wool fuzz is still there ... the vac is right. The "snack" crumbs left by the kiddies are no match for the vac. I'm not sure why other reviewers say vac suction not working? If you know the slate, then you know that is not uniform and has a natural variation in height, other cleaners I've tried did not work (like the Hoover Floor Mate). This Vac Shark Steam mop then worked! He earned every bit 'of debris off the floor, even at low points and joints. Due to the uneven nature of slate, sometimes I had to push a bit 'more difficult to overcome the "bumps", but that was not "hard", as another of the contributions.
I would also recommend it to my relatives who have arthritis, it is easy to use. Step steam has 30 seconds to warm up and then gave a solid for the duration of steam cleaning, I had about half the water in the container after cleaning. (Did not I do not feel exhausted and need to be larger.) I like the clean feeling that leaves on the floor and I will not add anything to the water, I shy away from chemicals and more odors due to allergies. Using the Shark is much better then my hands and knees cleaning! Take care!
